There's nothing like one of them days , when Mother Nature decides to just let it fall like no tomorrow on earth and you would do anything, except go outside.
Those days when you find yourself feeling gloomy and listening to some rainy days blues on your phone/ipod/computer, as you just lay in bed with your favorite pajamas on .
Well You ever heard of the phrase ,Save it for a rainy day?
Here's a few things , that I have been saving for a rainy day, that can come in handy really well when I have nothing to do, while the earth just washes itself away
On Monday , unfortunately while I was stuck at work on a rainy day, this idea came to me , as I looked out at the window and imagined a thousands things I'd rather be doing than at work.
So I guess you can expect not to see working as part of a rainy day.(But if you have to, then hey you have to:( )
Anyways this is my list of things that I would probably do on a rainy day.
And if you find yourself bored with nothing to do on a rainy day, and you don't have to go to work or at school, hopefully you find some of these ideas useful.
Most of these things I have done before and would recommend it for anyone who has been rained in, snowed in , off work , off school and have nothing to do.
You could even do some of these things after work and after school.
Let's get started shall we?
Starting things with number 10 on our list is...
10. Cook or Bake Something
If you are a food lover like me, then you will probably enjoy doing this one.Now you don't have to cook something so elegant and classy as this meal, but it would be nice to cook or bake a small dish , such as chicken noodle soup, spaghetti, mac and cheese, cookies, biscuits, cakes and maybe even attempt some good family home cooked recipes with your mom or dad. Have fun and make sure you don't burn the kitchen.* At least it's raining so maybe chances of a fire is a little low ;)*
9. Read a Book
There are lots of great novels out there and most of them are probably stuffed on your bookshelf or probably on the shelves of you local book store/library. Grab yourself a copy of a book and get lost in the world of non fictional characters as they take you in on an adventure on a rainy day.
8.Write a Story
Let your imagination run wild, as you listen to the raindrops and get in touch your inner author. There are lots of ways to write a story, maybe in your journal, on a computer, on a phone and etc. Find an idea and just let yourself write, You'd be surprised with how many pages you might end up writing when you just let yourself go.
What better way to use the free time on your hands on a rainy day, than to clean and organize your room, study or work desk, or anything that needs cleaning and maintenance around your house or apartment really. Now I know most our rooms don't look anything like the picture used above, but you get the idea. It's time to pick up those dirty clothes on the floor, make our bed and put things where they belong on a rainy day. Besides a cleaner space means a cleaner you and that's very important. And cleaning on a rainy day, means you don't have to when the sunny days come :p.
6. Paint a Picture
Get in touch with your inner Picasso and Michelangelo, and paint yourself your very own Mona-Lisa on a rainy day. It doesn't hurt to try , besides it's fun to just paint whatever comes to your mind. Maybe it's a picture of a sunny day, flowers, even a still life of how the rain looks like outside . It's a fun thing to do to let time pass by.
5. Watch a movie
Did someone say Netflix? Watching a movie on a rainy day , just screams Perfection! Who wouldn't want to make themselves a big bowl of popcorn, kick back in their seat or bed and watch a nice classic movie. You could use this day to catch up on your favorite show. It can even turn into a good family night if your parents and siblings are home with you.
4.Call a Friend or a few friends over /Go over a friends house
Rainy Days are fun when you're alone and enjoying some quiet time, but it can be even more fun if you have a few friends over or even family members and play a nice card game or some charades and just talk about many things.
3.Make Yourself a Cup of Tea/Hot chocolate.
Nothing like a nice hot cup of tea or chocolate as you sit back and unwind and enjoy the rain.
2. Have a Bubble Bath/ Relax
Hey just because you don't want to get wet in the rain, doesn't mean you can't get wet somewhere else. There's nothing like maybe lighting a few good smelling candles and making yourself a nice warm bubble bath to just relax. Long showers can have the same effect to. Besides you could read a nice book, enjoy a cup of tea or beverage of your choice as you unwind in the bath tub. Can't go wrong with that.
And rounding things off with number 1 on my list , one ofmy all time favorite to do on a rainy day is...
1. Sleep in !
I know I'm not the only one who likes the sound of rain, minus the thunder and lightning of course, but there's something about the way those raindrops fall down on the roof of my house and on my windows that just calms me down to my bones. Especially on a day where I don't have no where to go , I just like to chill in my pajamas and sleep as much as I can Holly Golighlty style. No shame in my game after all what are rainy days for , if I can sleep, sleep, sleep and eat as much as I can <3
