I already got my tea in my hand for this post, cause its about to be none of my business.
Once again I'm going to mention the fact that it is indeed 2015, A new year. And we all know that whenever there is a new year , some changes are expected to happen right? Changes particularly in what we see on our social medias. Especially things like Instagram and Facebook.
See ,I don't know about you, but there are a few things in particular that I and about thousands of other people, seriously wish would have gone Bye-Bye and left in the year 2014.
Its been 4 days in January so far, and I am already getting tired of the things that I've been seeing still for the past couple of years.
Kicking things of with the 5th spot on my list of things that should have been left in 2014 is.....
5. TBH Post?
Sounds Familiar? Good it should. But Let me freshen up your memory with these two pictures that seems to always grace my timeline, or whatever they call it , as I scroll down my Instagram.
I can't recall how many times I've seen pictures similar to these two on my social media, mostly on my instagram. I literally cannot go a day without seeing one, and honestly just like the rest of everyone else, I am tired. Let me first point out that I did not make Instagram and Facebook just to have someone tell me something honest about myself and how they feel about me.
If I wanted to hear the truth about how a particular person might feel about me , I would probably see a therapist, after all they are supposed to be one of the most honest people who tells you things that you probably already knew about yourself and things you didn't know.
In all actuality ,I am not trying to bash anyone, especially if you are one of the few people who still do this. But To Be Honest, its quite annoying that the only things you post is Tbh posts, instead of actual pictures of yourself, nature, maybe inspiring quotes, and even pictures of your food.
Yes ! I would take a food picture over tbh posts any day.
Here's a tip Why don't you just use Instagram to show your photography skills, take a picture of a table and add effects, I promise you that's more enjoyable and artsy than a tbh post.
I'm sure some of your followers would love that way more. Besides pictures like those are known to help you gain a few new followers every now and then. Trust me.
Now I must admit it "was" fun in the beginning when it "was" like a little game played between a few friends you knew in real life, and even some people you didn't, keyword on the word"was",but now its been a couple of years since this thing started and it's not doing anyone, any justice.
So ,to be honest please stop, unless you want to lose followers, then that's fine by me * sips tea*
4. Good Morning Posts
Okay, now this one out of all them was the one that used to secretly annoy me a lot, in fact it still does.
So I am alive, I woke up and I'm too lazy to get out of bed so what do I do, after sending a quick prayer thanking god for waking me up, I pick up my phone and start checking my social media for a few minutes until I get hungry and have to get up.
I already know its a Good morning, because I'm still breathing , that's all that matters.
Expecting to see nice pictures from the people I follow, of things they did or are doing and maybe see some cute outfits , and whatnots, I am instead being greeted by countless of posts that looks like this.
Now let me say this, there is nothing wrong with someone wanting to be a nice person and brighten someones day with a good morning post. I am all for that.
But it becomes a problem , when that same particular person does it almost everyday and then I have to suffer looking at bunch of good morning posts, attached with a picture of some odd looking and some random people, whom I do not know at all and honestly have no business or interest in doing so.
I mean hey ,if you feel like you're in the mood for saying good morning to people, why not just post one Good morning post, or greetings to all your followers and wishing them all a good day instead.I'd be happy with seeing a picture like that everyday.
This picture alone sums up just what I'm about to say.
Now I will admit again, when we all started instagram , a few years ago, some earlier than others, this was a very common thing to see. And it was okay.
For a while.
It's been 3+ years since Instagram started , and unless you just made an account yesterday, there should be no reason why I'm still seeing this.
Please don't be one of those people still asking for shoutouts and for followers in 2015. If you haven't reached about 100+ followers by now , then chances are you're probably not going to reach it anytime soon.
Sounds Harsh? Eh maybe but I mean really, it only makes sense either you accept that these are the people who are interested in following you for now, you change what kind of pictures you post on your page *maybe tone down on the selfies in the dark and blurry pics*, or just follow other people and see if they will follow you back.
I really don't know how that whole thing works, but I do know that posting "SfS" posts and actually shouting people out all the time on your page makes you look annoying and will definitely get you unfollowed.
Don't lose the little that you have , just to get more. It's not worth it.
But hey real quick, if you don't mind please spread the word about my blog and share this with some of your friends okay. *whoo this tea is real good *
2. Like for Rate?
We are nearing the end of my list, and this one is going to be about this 4 letter word called"Rate".
Sometimes I wonder if these rates, actually get people dates. See what I did there ? *smirk face*
But first if you are unsure about how this one particular works , I will gladly explain it to you. Okay so it starts of with the person either posting this picture.
Or simply just by writing the words "Like for rate?" on their Facebook status.
So then whoever likes the post will receive an "honest" rate, from the person who posted it, between 0-10 of how they presume you look. If they rate you a zero, it obviously mean they think you are ugly, and if they give you a 10 , then well you know what it means.
I confess , though I never was a fan of this to begin with and have never really liked any of these posts, I did post those words as my status once on Facebook.
In doing that I realized that ,I am too nice of a person, because I ended up rating everyone above an 8, whether accurate or not, there was no way I was going to honestly tell people how they looked by using a number. How lame can I be.
Call me old fashion, but I am a firm believer of beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, and the belief that everyone is cute and beautiful in their own way, not just based on looks.
That's probably why I was and am annoyed with this post particular , hence why it's number two on my list.
I have seen guys and girls rate people ,who were not even that bad looking, things like 2, -1, 3 and so forth. While I know that sometimes people are just joking, I can imagine the low self-esteem this can have on a person. It's a proven fact, that when a person is called ugly at least one time in a day, that whole word can overcome any other good compliments that they received.
And I for one do/did not want to be the reason why someone believes that they are ugly when they are not. After all who am I to rate someone.
I always thought of it as and rude, but never really let it get to me as much. But honestly it's 2015.
It's 2015! Lets stop rating people and actually work on ourselves and setting good goals for ourselves ,that's so much better.
Now Rounding up my list of 5 things I wish people would stop doing in 2015 and that I am tired of seeing on my Instagram, Twitter and Facebook is...
Drumroll please *Ba-dam-ba-dam!!*
1.Pictures of People Getting Turnt up and High
To each its own. That's always just been one of my motto's in how I percieve people but when I see pictures like this
It makes me seriously wonder what's wrong with some people.
Do people not realize that everything ,especially pictures, you post on the internet is practically permanent?
Okay I get it , we all get it , when you posted that you were going to get turnt this friday night on Twitter, we understood what you meant.
And we understood when you said , you were about to roll up some good stuff on Facebook.
You did not have to post countless of pictures of you surrounded by 10 bottles of liquor and a picture of you basically getting swallowed by clouds of smoke.
What are you trying to prove? That you like to get high and drunk? Okay that's fine , it's a normal thing now.
But do you have to post it all the time you are doing it.It's not like looking at those pictures will give me anything.
If anything, it makes some people look sloppy, like a drunk-head, a pothead and so much more negative outlooks.
It's not necessary, get high and get turnt all you want but don't show it to the world. It's not anything new. Lots of other people are doing it and I hate to break it to ya, but you're no different.
I just wish those people ,who do post lots of pictures of like that, goodluck in their future and hope they do think hard if they want to become the President, a famous person, or anything major in the future , because as much as I hate to say.
People will judge you , and pictures on the web are never fully erased. Be careful.
But hey to each its own, *sips tea* That's none of my business.
That's all for today. This was more of a venting post, but I know someone out there agrees with me. Lets have fun on social media, but not too much. And lets try to be decent, your social media, believe it or not , reflects who you are in person. If you were offended, sorry :/ but it's the truth. Love you anyways and thanks for reading. Until next time, Look out for How to get Clearer Skin on my next post :)xox0xx
What are some other things that annoys you that people still do on social media? I want to know please leave a comment or leave an annoymous one down below which I only get to see.
