How to Get Clear Skin + D.I.Y Masks

Who doesn't want perfect skin? I know I do. 

Here are a few tips , that I personally use to help me with my skin and I figured you guys might need them  too. Also I've included few D.I.Y mask that's very inexpensive and both guys and girls can do at home just for your skin type.


These are the basics tips on how to maintain a clear skin

·         Start washing your face daily. Start a routine morning and night.

·         Don’t pop your pimples, let it go naturally. Picking your pimple can have bad side effects.

·         Drink Plenty of Water. Drink up to 8  glasses of water a day.The extra fluid helps you flush out toxins and waste.

·         Drink Green Tea. Green tea is full of antioxidants and nutrients  which can help your body fight acne. Aim to drink at least  2-3 cups a day

·         Maintain a healthy diet and try to exercise more often. Eating fruits and vegetables will help your body and skin stay healthy. Exercise keeps your blood flow pumping and helps you get a good nights rest





1.For Dry Skin

Winter really has a bad effect on the skin, especially for those with dry skin. It cracks ,dries and flakes the skin , due to the windy and cold chill air that we go through. It's always best to make sure that your skin is getting the right treatment. Here is a few D.I.Y, mask you can make yourself at home for so much less.


Tomato and Honey Mask

This mask is known to help brighten your skin and fight against acne, leaving your skin smooth and clear. Cut up a slice of tomato and mix it with a little bit of honey. Its optional to put it in a blender to make it more smoother. Once a paste has formed, apply this on face leaving it on for 15 minutes , then wash it off.

You can even leave this mask on for overnight and wash it off in the morning, placing a towel on your pillow case of course to not get things messy, but it works really well too when left on for a long time.
Oats and Honey Mask

This mask is great for moisturizing dry skin and very easy to make. Mix equal parts of honey and oats until a thick paste is formed. Apply evenly to the face while gently scrubbing in circular motion Leave on for 15 minutes and wash off for smooth and moistrurized skin.
2. For Oily Skin


Now oily skin is one that I struggle with most. Oily skin tends to clog pores and are more prone to acne so its always good to find cleansers and mask that will help tone out your skin and avoid  getting clogged pores. These are a few masks that I have tried before and actually do work. Oily skin can be identified , if you appear oily even after applying makeup, and if your skin still appears oily within an hour of washing your face.

Banana, Lemon and Honey Mask

Nourishes and hydrates the skin, absorbs and retains moisture and exfoliates dead skin cells.

Mix in about 3 tbs. of banana , 1/2 tsp. of honey, and a few drops of lemon juice until they form a smooth paste. Apply it to face and neck avoiding the eye area for 15-20 minutes and rinse with cool water.Use this face mask once a week.


Strawberries, Lemon,Yogurt and Egg white Mask

Mix about 8 strawberries(cut in half),1 tbs. of yogurt (plain), 1 egg white and a few drops of lemon.Mash the strawberries with a fork and beat the egg white until it becomes foamy, then mix this in with the yogurt and lemon drops until they become a smooth paste. Apply to face for 15 minutes, avoiding the eye area and rinse with lukewarm water.

This mask cleanses and close pores, exfoliate and nourishes the skin and removes sebum. Use this once a week.
3. Normal Skin

People with normal skin are those whom, I like to call lucky. since your epidermis has a fine texture and are able to maintain a harmony between oily and dry skin. Here are a few D.I.Y mask to help you maintain and get your clear skin.


Apple and Honey Mask

1 Apple 2 Tsp Honey

Blend these ingredients together to create a smooth paste. Apply the mask to your face and leave it on for 20 minutes. Follow with rinsing and moisturizing.

Cucumber, Sugar, and Mint Mask/Scrub

This scrub can be used for those with Dry skin too!

You will need one big cucumber, 1-2 tbsp of Mint leaves, 1-2 cups of Sugar and 2 tbsp of Coconut oil. For the amount of sugar and coconut oil can be change depend on the texture of the scrub. If it’s come out to runny, add more sugar. If it come out to thick, add more coconut oil. Coconut oil is optional you can use strain water just as well

Blend cucumber and mint leaves until get smooth puree form. Add sugar to the cucumber puree and then follow by adding coconut oil. Apply the scrub on after for about 10-15 minutes wash with lukewarm water and say hello to soft and smooth skin after. You can even make more of this scrub and use it on your full body if you want.

And last but not the least here's a little treat, A D.I.Y astringent to treat dark eye circles. With school opening back very soon, it only means one thing , especially if you are in college. Late night studying are about to go at an all time high. Staying up late and having less sleep can cause a strain on our body and especially our skin. You ever see those big puffy and dark circles under the eyes after waking up from a 3 hour sleep the night before. Well here's a quick easy to do treatment than can help you out.

4. For Dark Under Eye Circles


Lemon and Almond Oil Astringent

Combine lemon juice and a few drops of almond oil and mix together. Apply this mixture underneath your eye before you go to bed and wake up feeling refreshed and without those circles.
